Commissions
It’s a nice problem to have–several commissions waiting to be completed. I’d always known that people like custom options but have found myself getting a lot more customers since I’ve been listing various custom books in my Etsy shop. I’ve done several personalized pamphlets in various sizes, a medium size book with logo on the cover, and have a couple of very large books I’m currently working on.
Magic Numbers?
5 and 100. I was doing an online survey yesterday and it dawned on me that I’ve actually been in business for 5 years now! Yep, it surprised me. Of course, we have to define “in business” I suppose. For me, “in business” means that I’ve had my business license and online presence for 5 years now, although there are long stretches of time when I really wasn’t paying much attention to it. But, hey, I didn’t say I’ve had a “successful” business for 5 years now. It’s starting to pick up, though, since I’ve been actively working on it recently but I’ve got a long way to go before I consider it really “successful.”
And the 100?
The Steampunk Lady’s Compact Notebook Set
I found myself inspired recently and in my studio while my muse was active so I actually came up with a new product! Of course, my timing is off just a wee bit. This should’ve come to me a month or so ago so that it would be available in time for Christmas, but I’m mainly just happy to have time and inspiration coinciding again.
Baaaaa?
Originally, I planned on doing this massive post about all the various works in progress that I’ve got in my studio. I finally came to my senses and realized that A) the post would end up being thousands of words long and B) nobody really wants to read a massive post about my well-honed skills of procrastination. Plus, let’s face it, most of these projects are languishing in my studio because I have no inspiration whatsoever to complete them. That makes for a seriously lame WIP post–”Look at what I haven’t finished yet. My plan is to ignore it for several more years and then eventually cannibalize it into a different project so that you never get to see it completed.”
I decided I should do a WIP post about something I’m currently working on, instead.
