As Promised
Finally a pic of Max to share.
And an update. Max has a new home. While the girls completely fell in love with him (as they do any critter that finds it way to our home), I liked him but found him a little tiring and Mark wasn’t really sold on him, I think mainly because he wasn’t ready for another pet. But the biggest impact was on Sweetie, our chow/shepherd mix and family dog. She’s been with the family for over two years now and is the sweetest dog ever but she really seemed overwhelmed and rather jealous of Max. Mark and I decided that it would be better to give Max to a good family and then, once we’ve sold this property and gotten our new home, we can all go and get a puppy together–one that’s young enough for Sweetie to be able to handle.
As luck would have it, our new-ish mail lady (our favorite mailman retired in January) used to have a schnauzer but he died so she was thrilled when I told her that Max was available if she wanted him. She has a couple of children and experience with Schnauzers so everyone was happy in the end.

So adorable! Terriers are a bit “high maintenance” for our family as well. We’ve got big, mellow sporting dogs.
Well, Sweetie is definitely happier now. I think she felt really pressured to fight for our attention while Max was here. We might get another schnauzer when the time comes (he really was great for the kids) but will definitely get a puppy so Sweetie can help “raise” him and I think that will solve that problem. Thanks for stopping by!
