Night of the Living Crab

Maybe it was because you left the pot sitting so long before cleaning it after last year's crab boil--that mold was pretty weird looking when you finally tackled it after two days. Or maybe it was that strange meteor shower last week or the crazed monkey you heard about on the news that kept trying to attack people and finally ended up drowning himself in the bay. In the end, it didn't really matter. You still found yourself facing flesh-eating zombie crabs in the middle of the kitchen floor. And by the looks of the smeared potato, there was one loose somewhere else in the house as well. Guess you aren't gonna be eating crab for dinner after all. In fact, it was starting to look like YOU had been added to the menu instead. If human zombies eat humans, why don't crab zombies eat crabs?! Wait! What was that noise...behind you....

Handsculpted (no molds) from polymer clay, another of the Horror Classics in my Crabbies series. The base is a 2" x 2" white ceramic tile with handpainted black checkers on it, varnished to protect it. The zombie crabs were sculpted with gray and white polymer clay, antiqued with black, and their red eyes painted (yep, they're undead, therefore they must have red eyes). One crab has lost the tip of a leg and has part of a claw falling off. The other crab (hanging from the pot handle) is losing an eye. The pot is also made from polymer clay, as are the new potatoes. I added some poppy seeds and a little spice for the crab boil (everything has been varnished and/or coated with resin).
